For us at Labor Security System, quality is a crucial value, a cornerstone of our philosophy which is reflected in our work.
Quality and safety are fundamental traits for the creation of Safetybox® cabinets and our Carbox® filters. The entire Labor Security System team works to achieve high quality standards, which allow us to assure safe and long-lasting products for our customers.
The careful selection of materials, attention to detail and finishes, the search for optimal solutions for customer needs lead us to create products that meet the highest quality standards on a daily basis.
To succeed in this, we rely on highly qualified suppliers, with whom we have established historical and long-lasting collaborations. Company and product certifications have characterised the company since its inception. The production processes have been refined and optimised over time in order to pass tests and obtain certifications in compliance with the European reference standards (EN 14470-1, EN 14470-2, EN 16121, EN 16122, EN 61010- 1).
And more. In the absence of a reference standard for the storage of chemical products, Labor Security System has put itself at the forefront and contacted its certification body TÜV SÜD, to draw up a protocol with guidelines to certify the safe storage of chemicals, acids and bases. Starting from this request, taking certain European standards and German standards into account, the PPP 52125A test, TÜV SÜD provided Labor Security System with the parameters and indications to obtain the product certification for cabinets for chemicals, acids and bases, making us the first manufacturers to have certified chemical storage cabinets.
The certainty of offering safe products to its customers has led the company to an important decision: the Safetybox® cabinets are covered by product liability insurance, which will reimburse any damage to persons or property, caused by any construction faults.
We are focused on quality at all levels, we firmly believe it is not only the products that must meet the highest quality standards. For this reason, the operating procedures of all company areas are monitored and inspected on a yearly basis for the renewal of the ISO 9001 certification.
The Standard on the storage of compressed gas cylinders, which came into force in 2006, replaces the DIN standard 12925-2 previously in force.
The introduction of EN 14470-2 raises the level of safety across Europe.
A safety cabinet has a fire resistance, referred to as G, which can be 15, 30, 60 or 90 minutes.
This results in the following classifications:
Purpose of the cabinet: to provide a sufficient degree of protection in the event of a fire to allow firefighters and rescue teams to intervene before a more serious fire occurs due to the combustion of flammable substances.
Each cabinet must have a certification following a fire test.
Fire tests must only be performed at an Independent Institute Certified by the Ministry.
The fire tests are carried out following the same procedure of EN Standard 14470-1 relating to Safety Cabinets for the storage of Flammable Products.
This European Standard (EN 16121:2013-A1:2017 - EN 16122:2012) was drawn up by the Technical Committee CEN/TC 207 “Furniture” whose secretariat is held by UNI. It applies to laboratory storage furniture previously covered by EN standard 14727 (withdrawn by CEN).
In accordance with CEN/CENELEC internal regulations, this European Standard must be adopted by the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and England.
This European Standard specifies the requirements for safety, strength, durability and stability for all types of non-domestic storage furniture. The requirements for resistance to ageing, degradation and flammability are excluded.
According to the Standard, all parts of the furniture with which the user comes into contact during the intended use must be designed in such a way as to prevent physical injury or damage.
The standard on the storage of flammable products, which came into force in 2023, replaces the previous version of 2004.
The introduction of EN 14470-1 raises the level of safety in Italy.
